So you want to lose weight? Have you lost weight before? How comes you want to lose weight again? Did you gain it back? OK, so what can we do differently?

The majority of clients I have helped have had weight loss journeys before coming to me and kept going full circle and regaining the weight and sometimes even more. When asking what they did 90% of them all say that they chained themselves to a treadmill for a number of weeks and took some dietary approach that included slashing calories to a ridiculously low amount. Now, although this appears to work and these clients did lose weight, it does not work in the long term and as soon as you stop eating a stupidly low number of calories or stop doing a ridiculous amount of cardio all the work gets undone and they have potentially damaged their metabolism causing them to gain even more weight than they already had.
For this reason my take on the best exercise for sustainable weight loss is resistance training. My explanation for this is that resistance training has a lasting effect with boosting your metabolism by building muscle. Muscle is more metabolically active than fat so every pound of muscle you can add to your frame will help to burn the fat currently on your frame. In addition to this it allows you to consume more calories as you are essentially boosting your metabolism by adding muscle to your body.
